Let the Light In

This was one of the first times I began painting with oils and painting with my hands. It has been a turning point in my work that set the tone for a lot of what I’ve evolved into today - themes emerged in the creation of this painting like capturing light, abstract shapes, building many layers to build colors and textures, oil paints, painting with my hands instead of brushes… all of which are very much present in my current work and will likely continue to be.

Let the Light In is a bit of a celebration of light and color, creative freedom, and flow. A representation of a range of emotions and joyful expression of being a light and recognizing light in ourselves and in all things.

No matter what we are experiencing, everything will be okay, if we just let the light in.
